Feel the ancient culture in morden colors

I live in Indira Nagar, Adyar, Chennai, South India and my studio is located at Woods Road, Off. Mount Road, Chennai. After a successful stint as a cartoonist from 1972 - 1983, in 1980, I started work on a series of abstract paintings based on themes from the Upanishads and other Hindu religious scriptures.

Entirely self-taught, I have developed a unique style

that has been refined over time and has not been influenced by others. My main offering includes paintings of an abstract nature, which are largely influenced by Hindu Religious Scriptures. In addition, though to a smaller extent, I work on alternate themes such as landscapes that reflect the natural beauty of India. All my paintings are acrylic on canvas.

I truly believe that the desire and ability to paint is a God-given gift and therefore spend considerable amount of time on the message that I want to convey, before brush meets canvas. I would be delighted to explain my thought process behind any painting that may be of interest to you, and in turn would be curious to hear your interpretation too.
